At our farm we have water, dare I say too much water? For most of the spring and whenever there is a “rain event” our fields are soggy and muddy. Any attempt to drive a tractor (big tractor or little lawn tractor) across the fields is a disaster. Finally last fall we started building a real road down to the high tunnel and vegetable field. We received engineering and design assistance from the NRCS, as we want this road to help us to prevent soil erosion and not destroy the fields we have. Last autumn we got about 1/3 of it completed. After this spring mud season we will continue working on it. Via Vegetable? Hen Highway?
